Postdoctoral researcher in matroid theory for post-quantum cryptography (m/w/d)
Your tasks
The successful candidate will investigate how matroids-and related combinatorial structures-can be used to design cryptographic primitives that are secure against quantum adversaries.
The Position Involves:
- Conducting independent and collaborative research in matroid theory and its applications to post-quantum cryptography, including publications in leading journals and conferences
- Developing new theoretical frameworks and exploring connections to cryptographic hardness assumptions
- Collaborating with PhD students and contributing to joint research projects
- Participating in group meetings, seminars, and interdisciplinary discussions
- Providing light teaching support, such as mentoring, occasional guest lectures, or assisting with graduate-level courses
Your profile
- PhD in mathematics or theoretical computer science
- Strong background in matroid theory, algebraic combinatorics, and discrete mathematics
- Interest or experience in cryptography, especially post-quantum cryptographic models
- Proven research ability and a strong publication record (relative to career stage)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
