The Swiss Institute of Banking and Finance (s/bf-HSG) at the University of St.Gallen seeks to hire a Research Associate (PhD Position).
  • This position should be of particular interest to candidates interested in pursuing an academic-oriented PhD with focus on private markets.
  • The researcher will benefit from hands-on experience with research methods and opportunities to work closely with national and international researchers.
  • This position provides excellent opportunities to develop valuable analytic skills and gain deep insights into diverse areas of Private Markets that are applicable to a broad spectrum of exciting career paths ranging from academia to central banking and financial services industry.

Your profile

Candidates for this position are expected to enroll in the PhD program in Finance at the University of St.Gallen (GPEF), with the doctoral supervisor being Prof. Dr. Tereza Tykvová. Since recently, University of St. Gallen  is a member of the Swiss Finance Institute. 
The candidate should fulfill the following qualifications:
  • Outstanding Master's degree in economics/finance or a related field from a leading university or business school
  • Strong interest in private markets
  • Demonstrated suitability to work on analytical problems and solid empirical analysis skills
  • Previous research experience in private markets or corporate finance is a definite plus
  • First practical experience in a profession closely related to private markets is a plus
