The Institute of Responsible Innovation at the University of St.Gallen (IRI-HSG) seeks to hire a Research Associate (PhD Position) in sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation.
 
The position is part of a DREAM+PLAN consortium funded by European Union. DREAM+PLAN brings together a community of visionary changemakers, leaders, who dream big and develop tangible pathways for solving local and global climate-related challenges, all united by a mission to create a positive impact, towards a more sustainable, fair, inclusive and thriving planet for future generations. RMIT  Europe is the lead university and takes complete responsibility for the proper implementation of the DREAM+PLAN Program.

Your tasks:
  • Conduct research as part of your PhD thesis in sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation;
  • Contribute to the DREAM+PLAN project;
  • Collaborate with team members on interdisciplinary research projects;
  • Engage in outreach activities to promote research and increase the institute's visibility;
  • Assist in teaching activities, including courses and supervision of Master's and Bachelor's theses;
  • Collaborate with the team to organize workshops, seminars, and conferences aimed at fostering academic dialogue and knowledge exchange.

Your profile

Position Overview:
In this role, you will conduct rigorous research under the doctoral supervision of Prof. Dr. Charlotta Sirén, aimed at achieving publication in leading journals in the field. As such, this opportunity is particularly suited for candidates with a keen interest in pursuing an academically oriented PhD. Especially, we expect the PhD candidate to contribute to our research on the challenges in sustainable entrepreneurship and management.

Your profile:
  • Outstanding Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Entrepreneurship, Social Responsibility; Innovation, Management, or related fields) fulfilling the requirements for admission to a PhD program at the University of St.Gallen (see PhD admissions webpage for more information);
  • Strong interest in sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation, coupled with a keen desire to contribute to academic scholarship in these areas;
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn academic research methods, whether quantitative or qualitative and a strong commitment to excellence in rigorous methodologies
  • Demonstrated previous research experience is highly advantageous;
  • Proven ability to tackle analytical problems;
  • Independent, structured way of working, and the ability to independently manage your time;
  • Team spirit and interest in collaborative projects;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Eligibility criteria for program application are as following:
Mobility rule: candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc) in the country of the Employing Institution for more than twelve (12) months in the thirty-six (36) months immediately preceding the deadline for the programme call.

Experience rule: researchers must be doctoral candidates at the date of recruitment, i.e. not already in possession of a doctoral degree at the deadline of the open calls.

Applicants must be able to agree to the conditions of the Fellowship, including an up to twelve (12) month research secondment to RMIT University.
